Below you will find a summary of what students are learning and what assignments are being done in class, or may need to be done at home. This is for Mr. Reiger's 8th grade English Language Arts class.
Summary of recent topics
11/4 Students are beginning to work on Research papers on careers of their choice.
Students took notes on taking notes 10/30 Students are working on sensory details by describing a haunted house 10/29 Biographical research paper on celebrities of their choice 10/22 Students are reading Flowers for Algernon 10/21 Students will be presenting their silent reading books this week. 10/16 Student began brain storming themes 10/10 Once students finish their persuasive essays, they will begin writing an essay on theme. Students will pick one of the following stories to write about: Thank you M'am, Raymond's Run, or Treasure of Lemon Brown 10/7 Students are doing a brief research paper on kindness 10/2 Students are reading "The Treasure of Lemon Brown 9/30 NO MORE DLW papers, instead, DLWs will be written in notebook. Students began work on writing a Persuasive Essay
9/24 Them of Raymond's Run: support with 3 details from the story 9/19 Students are writing a response to literature paper this quarter:
